Day 18-Cabin in the Woods

"You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the one who'll decide where to go..."

My body did not like what I ate and how much apparently because it was another solitaire night! Thank god for the cabin and being indoors! One of my favorite things with being in civilization is being able to wash pots; washing things in the woods is difficult and time consuming. First you have to put some soap in, then pump water from the stream into the pot, then use your spoon to scrub the bottom and sides, dump out, re-pump clean water, and repeat until clean. So I always take the luxury of washing my pot when in town. Below is a painting that Donna painted and is hung in our cabin, I fell in love with it and I think it would be a great memento to hang in my house one day for the great people I have met along the way. She said she will think about it and let me know, that's all I can ask for! I gave her pretty much everything except my social security number haha. We had a great breakfast up at their cabin home of scrambled eggs with ham, bacon, pancakes, and French toast! Great company for sure thank you Phil and Donna! We are headed back to the trail soon!
